Studies and qualifications 1985, South African Matric, Hoërskool Waterkloof, Pretoria, South
Africa. 1986, attended Abitur, Kaiserin Friedrich Gimnasium, Bad Homburg, Germany (exchange student). 1992,
B Arch, University of Pretoria (architectural degree). Dissertation: "The Promenade", an entertainment centre
of which one function, a night club, is designed in detail. 1993, attended a Master of Urban Design
course, University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg.
Work experience 1994, Roxin Architects, Swakopmund, Namibia. Townhouses, luxury residential homes and a
gallery complex inclusive of apartments and shops. Also an urban design study for Swakopmund City Council on the upgrading
of former "black" townships and the integration of these with the former "white" residential
areas. 1995 to 1998, Oscar Hirsch and Silvio Buffler Architects, Pretoria, South Africa. Mainly feasibility
studies including suburban shopping centres. 1999 to 2004, own practice. Residential projects included new houses,
alterations and additions to various existing houses inclusive of home offices and with detailed attention to kitchens,
bathrooms and outdoor living. Also restaurant interiors, corporate interiors, light industrial design and furniture
design. 2005, travelling, Europe. Informal study to keep abreast of new developments in the profession.
